the result queue length is never less than 64. Move (ick) temp port
database used for post-LIP merging off the kernel stack and put it
into the softc. Remove some target mode stuff which will come back
later in a different file. Change how the list of outstanding commands
are stored (now allocated at mailbox setup time to be just enough for
the max for a specific HBA which can vary). Keep a rotating seed of
the last index for this in the softc. Increase the count of active
commands from 10 to 16 bits.

Matt Jacob 26ced58bac (Yes, this *was* tested sufficiently to allow what looks like a simultaneous
commit to -current 3.X and 2.X)...
MFC:Remove some target mode stuff. It will get re-introduced in a different
file later. Do some pencil-sharpening types of minor changes. Change
how active commands are remembered (using new inline functions to get
handles, etc..). Now do a GET FIRMWARE STATUS after firing up the f/w as
outgoing mailbox 2 will tell you the f/w's notion of the max commands
that can be supported. Attempt to retrieve loop topology. Add in the
appropriate SWIZZLE/UNSWIZZLE macros calls (this is a no-op on Little
Endian machines but is needed for sparc (on other platforms)). Move
the temp port database we use to find out where things have moved to
after a LIP to the softc and off the kernel stack. Follow Qlogic's
hint and don't bother setting a tag for commands that don't have
this enabled (presumably the f/w will do it's own selection then).
Use an INT_PENDING macro to check for an interrupt. The call to
ISP_DMAFREE now just takes the handle- not the 'handle-1' which was
a layering violation. Use CFGPRINTF in a couple of places to make
things less chatty if not booting verbose, or CAMDEBUG compiles, etc..

Andreas Klemm 47ac18af71 Fix from author of the driver:
The i++ loop from 1..1000 is too small on very fast machines like
PII 450 MHz. Increasing the loop from 1..100000 lets the machine
access PHY. After this patch it's possible to use a SMC PCI card
on a HP Kayak XA series PC Workstation. Workaround until this fix
was to enable debugging in the driver (#define EPIC_DEBUG 1).

Without that patch you get an undefined state:
while true
do
ifconfig -a | grep status:
done
The status messages flaps between two values, but not
"connected".

Jordan K. Hubbard ddf8865a2c It appears that the wdc driver implements CDIOREADTOCENTRYS but not the
related CDIOREADTOCENTRY that is needed by iso_get_ssector(). This should
still be OK - iso_get_sector() traps the error and simply assumes a
single-session CD in this case - but unfortunately the error test is
wrong (because it is calling the driver's ioctl entry point directly, the
return value is zero or an errno value).

Luigi Rizzo 3851a58038 Fix two problems which can occur with poor cabling:
1) the routine to compute length for non-std packets (too short
or too long) was off by 256 in almost all cases.
2) fixing the above triggered a bug in the bridging code causing
ed_ring_copy to be called with a negative length -> panic.
It is unlikely that you see the problem unless you use promisc mode,
bridging and poor cabling.

tcp connections. slow-start is used by default (as it should be)

David E. O'Brien 629ae66a3d [As I was saying]
I believe this by bde from bsd.prog.mk still applies:

To get the fixes and simplifications, application Makefiles should put the raw
lex and yacc source names (foo.l and bar.y) in SRCS and not put the names of
any generated files in SRCS or CLEANFILES.

If you want to regress to generating foo.c from foo.y via y.tab.c for crufty
applications that want a y.tab.h file. This want must be specified by putting
y.tab.h in SRCS (and defaulting to or putting -d in YFLAGS). This only works
if there is only one yacc parser, of course.

Complications: if bar.y is in SRCS and -d is in YFLAGS, then bar.h will be
generated whether or not it is used, even if this clobbers a real source file.

Satoshi Asami d780fb24fb (1) Change USE_X11 (the new one) to USE_XLIB.
(2) Add support for PLIST_SUB variable. It is a list of "VAR=VALUE" pairs,
and will substitute %%VAR%% with the value of VALUE in the PLIST.
Right now it's used for ${OSREL} only, but inviditual ports can
take advantage of it to avoid having to manually edit PLIST.
Submitted by:	hoek

(3) Add manpages defined in MAN? (taking account of NOMANCOMPRESS) to
beginning of PLIST automatically. Note this will cause manpages
to be packed twice for the time being. I'm going to clean up the
    PLISTs now.

(4) Add new variable USE_QT, which adds LIB_DEPENDS to qt140. (And maybe
BUILD_DEPENDS on moc/qt140 too, if it is indeed a big problem that
    people keep deleting this file.)
Submitted by:	andreas

(5) Fix spacing behind "===>" to be more consistent.
