to use tftp to load the kernel rather then NFS, allowing it to mount
the server's root via BOOTP while still loading a custom kernel (rather
then the server's kernel) via TFTP.
a temporary patch so that things can proceed. The complexity
of what got (only partially) MFC'd needs still to be addressed-
hopefully by those who were involved.
Add support to send the string 'PXEClient' as the Vendor class
identifier to the DHCP server. Now you can check for this string
in your dhcp configuration to decide whether you will hand out a
lease to the client or not.
Look for libstand in the built tree rather than in /usr/lib. This
likely could be done better, but the tree is broken and I wanted to
get a fix into the tree.
Export the salient configuration items in a non-pxe-specific namespace
to allow commonality between varying platforms. This is a step
towards parsing the diskless configuration information with MI code
inside the kernel.
Export the interface hardware address to the kernel, so that it is possible
to determine the boot interface with certainty.
Export the NFS filehandle for the root mount to the kernel, so that the
kernel does not need to perform a mount RPC call.
- Add $FreeBSD$ to README
- Coment fix for the if_wx module in loader.conf
- Axe all the unneeded m4 files (yay!)
- EDD support in mbr, boot1 and boot2, and the loader
- inline functions in boot2 that are only used once to gain 68 bytes of
free space
- emulate the WBINVD instruction in BTX
- remove cruft from the cdldr Makefile
- improve hard disk probe checking as well as lsdev enhancements in the
loader

MFC: rev 1.7
* Remove the setting of sourceid from bf_vm(), as bf_vm() really has
no clue.
* set sourceid to 0 when booting, which is the correct setting for stdin.
* set sourceid to an arbitrary fd when include'ing, preserving and
restoring the previous sourceid.

Only probe network settings on the first open of the network device.
The alpha firmware takes a seriously long time to open the network device
the first time.
