David E. O'Brien 0512671f66 MFC. 
* Bring back the guts of crt{i,n}.S.  This allows C++ exceptions to work
when using the egcs and gcc-devel ports, along with GCC built from stock
public FSF sources.  With out this change, FreeBSD will be removed from
the list of systems GCC 3.0 must be evaluated on before release.

* Switch from our own crt{begin,in} to those created from GCC's crtstuff.c.

* Break out our ELF branding bits into a seperate file.  Currently this
is now included by our crt1.c files (since this functionality was part of
our native crtbegin.c).  Later crtbrand.o will be merged in the creation
of crti.o.

Dag-Erling Smørgrav d2fcaedaad Don't expect a result code on the control connection until you've closed the 
data connection, as some servers wait for the remote end to close the data
connection instead of just closing their end once the transfer is complete.

This fixes the hangs some people have been experiencing when fetching ports.

(committed to RELENG_4 before HEAD because it was debugged and fixed on
a RELENG_4 box)

Gregory Neil Shapiro 644aefb190 MFC: Use sendmail's version of vacation. It is command line and database 
compatible with the old version but includes new functionality and bug
     fixes.

     Since it is not part of the NO_SENDMAIL make.conf option, libsmdb and
     libsmutil should always be built for vacation's sake.
