Cen Zhang 8697c431e2 KEYS: encrypted: fix integer overflow of datablob_len
encrypted_key_alloc() stores datablob_len in a u16. It is computed from
multiple string and payload lengths. If the result exceeds U16_MAX, the
assignment truncates the allocation size. KASAN reports a 32760-byte
slab-out-of-bounds write when __ekey_init() copies the master key
description into the undersized buffer.

The total payload length stored in key->datalen is also a u16. Use
check_add_overflow() to reject values that do not fit either destination,
and use kzalloc_flex() for the flexible-array allocation.

Maoyi Xie 0d6a4268b0 keys: translate request_key_auth pid for the reading procfs instance
request_key_auth_describe() prints rka->pid into /proc/keys as a raw
pid_t in the initial pid namespace. A reader can open /proc/keys through
a mount in another pid namespace. That reader sees a number with no
meaning there. The number can even name an unrelated task. The line
needs VIEW on the key. So the reader either shares the key owner's uid
or possesses the key.

The fix keeps a struct pid. Commit 4f82f45730 ("net ip6 flowlabel:
Make owner a union of struct pid * and kuid_t") gave
/proc/net/ip6_flowlabel the same storage. The print goes through
pid_nr_ns(). It renders against the pid namespace of the procfs instance
the line is read through. Commit ad08978ab4 ("ipv6/flowlabel: simplify
pid namespace lookup") moved that print to the same anchor. Output
through an initial namespace /proc does not change. The line shows 0 for
a requestor with no number in that namespace.

Translating at read time was the alternative. find_pid_ns() can resolve
a recycled number. The line would then name a live task with no
connection to the key. A stored struct pid gives 0 instead when the
requestor has no number there.

Karl Mehltretter 2725ab3f5a keys: fix lost wakeup when reaping a dead key type
clear_bit() is atomic with respect to the word it modifies, but it is
an unordered operation: it implies no memory barrier on either side
(Documentation/atomic_bitops.txt).

key_garbage_collector() clears KEY_GC_REAPING_KEYTYPE with clear_bit()
and calls wake_up_bit() after reaping a dead key type. wake_up_bit()
uses a lockless waitqueue check and requires a full barrier after the
clear.

The existing smp_mb() is before clear_bit(), so nothing orders the clear
against that check. The GC can see an empty waitqueue while
unregister_key_type() still sees the bit set. The final wakeup is then
lost, leaving module unload stuck in wait_on_bit().

Use clear_and_wake_up_bit(). Its clear_bit_unlock() has RELEASE
semantics, so the completed GC work stays ordered before the clear, and
its smp_mb__after_atomic() orders the clear before the waitqueue check.

Jarkko Sakkinen 3d9e043dab tpm-buf: Memory-safe allocations
Decouple kzalloc from buffer creation, so that a managed allocation can be
used:

	struct tpm_buf *buf __free(kfree) buf = kzalloc(TPM_BUFSIZE,
						GFP_KERNEL);
	if (!buf)
		return -ENOMEM;

	tpm_buf_init(buf, TPM_BUFSIZE);

Alternatively, other allocations are also possible (static data, stack,
etc) for example:

	u8 buf_data[512];
	struct tpm_buf *buf = (struct tpm_buf *)buf_data;
	tpm_buf_init(buf, sizeof(buf_data));

This is achieved by embedding buffer's header inside the allocated blob,
instead of having an outer wrapper.

Chengfeng Ye 5e2d672280 KEYS: trusted: Fix TPM teardown ordering
trusted_tpm_exit() drops the TPM chip reference and frees the digest
array before unregistering the trusted key type. key_type_lookup()
holds key_types_sem for reading until the key operation finishes, while
unregister_key_type() takes it for writing. It therefore provides the
synchronization point that must precede backend teardown.

The current order permits this interleaving:

  CPU 0                              CPU 1
  trusted_tpm_exit()                 key_type_lookup("trusted")
    put_device(&chip->dev)             trusted_tpm_seal()
    kfree(digests)                       pcrlock()
    unregister_key_type()                  tpm_pcr_extend(..., digests)

CPU 1 can consequently dereference the freed digest array. The chip can
also be released before callbacks stop using it.

KASAN reported:

Move unregister_key_type() before releasing either resource. This stops
new lookups and waits for in-flight key operations to finish before the
backend state is destroyed.

Michael Bommarito 58565eef0f keys: make keyring key-chunk byte order agree with keyring_diff_objects()
keyring_get_key_chunk() loads description bytes into the index chunk low
address first, while keyring_diff_objects() numbers the first differing
bit from the low end and folds the absolute byte index into the level
without removing the inline-prefix offset the level already carries.
The two disagree on byte order and bit position, so the array can be
told two keys first differ at a bit that does not differ in the chunk
the walker uses, letting crafted descriptions collide into one node.

Load the chunk in the order keyring_diff_objects() assumes and drop the
inline-prefix length when folding the byte index into the level. This
only changes the in-memory ordering used to place keys within a keyring;
add, search and read of non-colliding keys are unaffected.

Michael Bommarito 63918731f9 keys: fix out-of-bounds read in keyring_get_key_chunk()
For description-level chunks keyring_get_key_chunk() advances the read
pointer by level * sizeof(long) past the inline prefix but only
bounds-checks the prefix, so a long enough key description is read past
its kmemdup(desc, desc_len + 1) allocation. Compute the full byte
offset and bounds-check the description against it before reading.

The walk only reaches a description-level chunk when two keys collide
through the hash, x, type and domain_tag chunks, so this is reached from
an unprivileged add_key(2) with a crafted pair of same-type keys whose
index hashes collide; KASAN reports a slab-out-of-bounds read.

Fabrice Derepas 35d661c98f KEYS: trusted: dcp: fix key_len validation and calc_blob_len() return type
Two correctness and type-hygiene issues exist in the DCP trusted keys
implementation.

First, trusted_dcp_unseal() reads p->key_len from a user-supplied blob
without checking if it exceeds MAX_KEY_SIZE. If a crafted blob provides a
payload_len larger than 128, the subsequent do_aead_crypto() call writes
past the end of the p->key array into the adjacent p->blob buffer within
the same struct trusted_key_payload -- the caller's own input, not
unrelated kernel memory. While not exploitable, this violates strict array
bounds and triggers static analyzers. Fix this by adding a validation
check against MIN_KEY_SIZE and MAX_KEY_SIZE immediately after reading the
length, matching the checks already done in trusted_core.c.

Second, calc_blob_len() calculates a sum in size_t that truncates to
unsigned int on 64-bit platforms. Because the DCP hardware is only present
on 32-bit i.MX SoC platforms, size_t and unsigned int are functionally
equivalent in production, making this truncation harmless in practice.
Nevertheless, updating the return type to size_t (and subsequently updating
'blen' in the seal/unseal paths) resolves type-narrowing warnings and
improves overall code hygiene.

more complex cases spread over multiple lines would not be triggered:

the resulting diff is also then easier to check automatically.

Lorenzo Stoakes 590d356aa4 mm: update shmem_[kernel]_file_*() functions to use vma_flags_t
In order to be able to use only vma_flags_t in vm_area_desc we must adjust
shmem file setup functions to operate in terms of vma_flags_t rather than
vm_flags_t.

This patch makes this change and updates all callers to use the new
functions.

No functional changes intended.

Srish Srinivasan c99fcb0d73 keys/trusted_keys: establish PKWM as a trusted source
The wrapping key does not exist by default and is generated by the
hypervisor as a part of PKWM initialization. This key is then persisted by
the hypervisor and is used to wrap trusted keys. These are variable length
symmetric keys, which in the case of PowerVM Key Wrapping Module (PKWM) are
generated using the kernel RNG. PKWM can be used as a trust source through
the following example keyctl commands:

keyctl add trusted my_trusted_key "new 32" @u

Use the wrap_flags command option to set the secure boot requirement for
the wrapping request through the following keyctl commands

case1: no secure boot requirement. (default)
keyctl usage: keyctl add trusted my_trusted_key "new 32" @u
	      OR
	      keyctl add trusted my_trusted_key "new 32 wrap_flags=0x00" @u

case2: secure boot required to in either audit or enforce mode. set bit 0
keyctl usage: keyctl add trusted my_trusted_key "new 32 wrap_flags=0x01" @u

case3: secure boot required to be in enforce mode. set bit 1
keyctl usage: keyctl add trusted my_trusted_key "new 32 wrap_flags=0x02" @u

NOTE:
-> Setting the secure boot requirement is NOT a must.
-> Only either of the secure boot requirement options should be set. Not
both.
-> All the other bits are required to be not set.
-> Set the kernel parameter trusted.source=pkwm to choose PKWM as the
backend for trusted keys implementation.
-> CONFIG_PSERIES_PLPKS must be enabled to build PKWM.

Add PKWM, which is a combination of IBM PowerVM and Power LPAR Platform
KeyStore, as a new trust source for trusted keys.

Srish Srinivasan 6342969daf keys/trusted_keys: fix handle passed to tpm_buf_append_name during unseal
TPM2_Unseal[1] expects the handle of a loaded data object, and not the
handle of the parent key. But the tpm2_unseal_cmd provides the parent
keyhandle instead of blob_handle for the session HMAC calculation. This
causes unseal to fail.

Fix this by passing blob_handle to tpm_buf_append_name().

Randy Dunlap 24c776355f kernel.h: drop hex.h and update all hex.h users
Remove <linux/hex.h> from <linux/kernel.h> and update all users/callers of
hex.h interfaces to directly #include <linux/hex.h> as part of the process
of putting kernel.h on a diet.

Removing hex.h from kernel.h means that 36K C source files don't have to
pay the price of parsing hex.h for the roughly 120 C source files that
need it.

This change has been build-tested with allmodconfig on most ARCHes. Also,
all users/callers of <linux/hex.h> in the entire source tree have been

Thorsten Blum a0a76e3f8d keys: Replace deprecated strncpy in ecryptfs_fill_auth_tok
strncpy() is deprecated for NUL-terminated destination buffers; use
strscpy_pad() instead to retain the NUL-padding behavior of strncpy().

The destination buffer is initialized using kzalloc() with a 'signature'
size of ECRYPTFS_PASSWORD_SIG_SIZE + 1. strncpy() then copies up to
ECRYPTFS_PASSWORD_SIG_SIZE bytes from 'key_desc', NUL-padding any
remaining bytes if needed, but expects the last byte to be zero.

strscpy_pad() also copies the source string to 'signature', and NUL-pads
the destination buffer if needed, but ensures it's always NUL-terminated
without relying on it being zero-initialized.

strscpy_pad() automatically determines the size of the fixed-length
destination buffer via sizeof() when the optional size argument is
omitted, making an explicit size unnecessary.

In encrypted_init(), the source string 'key_desc' is validated by
valid_ecryptfs_desc() before calling ecryptfs_fill_auth_tok(), and is
therefore NUL-terminated and satisfies the __must_be_cstr() requirement
of strscpy_pad().

Randy Dunlap 8be70a8fc6 security: keys: use menuconfig for KEYS symbol
Give the KEYS kconfig symbol and its associated symbols a separate menu
space under Security options by using "menuconfig" instead of "config".

This also makes it easier to find the security and LSM options.

Eric Biggers 9b8d24a49f KEYS: encrypted: Use SHA-256 library instead of crypto_shash
Instead of the "sha256" crypto_shash, just use sha256(). Similarly,
instead of the "hmac(sha256)" crypto_shash, just use
hmac_sha256_usingrawkey(). This is simpler and faster.
